Chr.istain.ity is strikingly similar to the fabulous creature known as the push-me-pull-you* inasmuch as no matter how you look at it all you can ever see is R. Souls** -- at least that's what it sounds like to me.
NB Isn't this desrespectful, sacriligious and blasphemous? That's the whole point, well ignoring the humour, to show, as a simple example, that respecting dubious systems held in some esteem so as not to be questioned especially when it's track record is atrocious to say the least, is wrong, very wrong and that includes morally wrong too.
And no, I don't hate chri.stains, I just feel sorry for them because they haven't got a clue and because of what their system brings about. No system should be beyond questioning and if it is given an automatic status of respect for which there is no good reason, and I can see none, then it MUST be shown disrespect as a kind of duty or responsibility.
*The push-me-pull-you is a sort of modern invented animal with a head at the back and at the front -- we are talking Alice In Wonderland story book tales here, though sometimes it is hard to tell what is real and what is imagined, or, put another way, what exactly 'imagined' is, I mean, huh, it's ideas, right, that we get in our minds, right, that we call 'imagination' and we say 'came out of nowhere', right, I mean, that explains it, imagination, right?
I mean, I'm not quite so sure about that, supposing it is a bit more, I mean, just supposing now, supposing imagination is actually something more than 'imagination', what we call imagination, just supposing it is more than 'imagination' that imagination is actually something real, not necessarily fully real but maybe a halfway house kind of reality somewhere between what we call fiction and think of as imagination but, maybe, just supposing, it actually does have it's own reality, I mean, somehow we came to think of it, we came to 'imagine it up' so to speak and isn't that just a tiny bit odd, to just be able to conjure something up with our minds and it has no discernable origin except in our minds, I mean that makes a huge amount of sense doesn't it. Well, no, actually it doesn't make any sense at all.
So I have my tiny weeny suspicions that imagination is more than we give it credit for and the metaphors and new creatures not only represent something real but may in fact actually be real to some extent too. That's out of this world, of course it is, but stupid and unrealistic?
Which makes more sense to dream something that is non existent because it is fantastic or to ascribe some source that is based on a reality somewhere? You decide.
Anyway, that's where the push-me-pull-you came from -- some writers imagination.
** If you want to find out about the R. Souls take a look in my Religion category where you will find a complete official definition and description but, fortunately, no pictures. Don't be surprised if you get a 404 -- my pages ARE """""filtered"""""" for """naughty"""" words and words that are owned, so it would seem, by some protected system.
