The bible story of David and Jonathan, which is part of Samuel, if you don't already know that from your Sunday school days, has to be seen as a gay relationship and an especially interesting one too.
This particular bible story is of course interesting because it is about two young men who are evidently having a close relationship which at one point, well I will leave you to read it and decide for yourself what more happens or maybe, just maybe, I will give you some of the more sordid and juicey details later...
The bible is reputed, believed or held to be a thing to be respected and bible people are respected as or assumed to be people who have high standards of personal integrity, truthfulness and honesty although the opposite is quite often the actual case.
This one single story shows that far from being intent upon revealing what some of the stories in the bible might mean, or indeed even that they actually exist, those who speak or write about the bible and homosexuality will almost invariably never mention Samuel but always Leviticus.
Many people have pointed out that Leviticus cannot be relied on or regarded as an authority because to do so would condemn, for just one instance, the whole of the french nation for their culinary delicacies. But that doesn't stop bible people from carrying on just the same, as if he were someone to be regarded with some kind of reverence. I do not think Leviticus deserves our respect, partly because of the reasons those others have already stated in many other places but just as much if not more so because of his blatant psychopathy which I will go into more a little later. But just why do bible people cite Leviticus and never Samuel or what does it tell us about the bible citers?
This is a fundamental dishonesty and it shows a clear lack of integrity and deceitful policy adopted deliberately to mislead and to stir up and maintain fear and hatred for those who are different from the norm or the so-called norm.
With Samuel, the bible people, I suppose I could call them biblicans, have always had an opportunity to preach love and caring for each other if they had ever chosen to have the guts to stand up in opposition to the river of hate biblicans, they could have stood up in contrast and preached loving, caring, understanding of difference. But did they? Have they? Have they ever. Never does one have the kind of manhood that it takes to stand up on your own and speak out in defiance of the mob. Samuel was there all along just waiting for any bible person to come along and say to him or herself something like "Hey, ya know what, I think it's about time to speak up for the little guy, the camp guy, the effeminate guy, the gay guy, the guy who's been getting all the **it lately. That's only fair, right? And you know what, here it is, page 3437793 in verse 280473 under Samuel, this Dave and Jonny thing. It's got the balls. Let's go for it." Okay, maybe there was one a long time ago who got burnt at the stake for daring to be honest, for daring to speak up, for daring to go against the biblical river of hate, for trying to teach right-mindedness, for trying to speak about loving and caring even if it's a bit different. My point is that any of these bible people has always had that option there for the taking if ever any one of them had had the balls to do it; they didn't and they don't and they never will.
Why not?
Because it's a cowards game. Pretend and pose as god-knowing. Assert charismatic fervour and authority. Exert threatening and semi-threatening tone, manner and language. But never, never, never entertain any slightly individual thought or word that detracts from this machine-like behaviour.
That's why not. Each one of these bible people has opted out of the norm him or herself and opted instead to join a gang and mob mentality which is always crude and blunt.
In order to read Samuel's account and for it to register one has to be willing to accept that this is something extraordinary which runs counter to the programmed mindset. You would have to be willing to forego that programmed mindset and be willing to think what that extraordinary story means in order to break away from this biblical type of mentality and speak as an individual human being. That, by the way, is all I do with these articles of mine, isn't it, so it is not so difficult and it has never been impossible.
Let us be blunt, this is because they are not interested in the truth at all despite what they boast and claim but about their own propagandizing and their own message and that message is also equally invariably one of thinly disguised hate which they regurgitate repeatedly in an effort to stir up disgust, fear and hatred against, in this case, homosexuals.
In fact they have been so successful over the past couple of hundred years that the hatred and fear of gay people really has largely been a success story that bible people can rightfully claim as theirs.
At one time the justice system and the psychiatric system were also intensely homophobic but that was only because the bible people were so successful in their fear and hate mongering. The school systems are still largely very homophobic and this too is a legacy from bible influence. Schools of course should focus on education which means learning about knowledge and knowledge of course is not something that is ever gained by reading the bible unless it is knowledge about the sheer and evil dishonesty of the bible people themselves and how deluded and deceitful they are in their cunning and scheming. So they have had a lot of success over the decades and centuries but it always comes to an end and that is why they always have to move on to another victim target. Studying the bible in school from this point of view would be far more of a learning experience than pretending that the bible can teach anyone anything at all about any of the things that are claimed for it by the biblicans.
At every period of the bible's existence it has been a weapon of mass destruction and I don't mean that jokingly, for a hundred or two hundred years gays have been their hate target, at other times it was left handed people who were targetted as evil by bible people and in another time slot or generation it was the so-called witches. The bible produces a great deal of pointless suffering and death and while it possibly has some use it is, as a whole, a more poisonous and deadly weapon than a benign or beneficial object. I am not prone to exagerate and my observations are not based on warped thinking but careful study, observation and analysis.
I want to be very very clear about this. The bible is a very nasty weapon and deliberately so. Whatever good can be argued for it's continued respect in any society has to be balanced by the knowledge of what results a little while after it's first impression.
Rwanda at the time of the atrocities there in the early 1990s was reported by The Observer newspaper to be "the most christinized country in the world". In the jungles of South America whole tribes have been exterminated because of bible people sowing their insanity.
I know a lot of people don't want to see it. People prefer not to deal with it but just go on assuming that it is probably harmless even if it isn't true. But whether it is true or not is a separate issue. It is poison and it is deadly and it is nasty and it is malignant and it produces insanity and it produces fear and it produces hate and it generates terror.
My point in this story is not to prove that to you but simply to tell you about David and Jonathan and to think about what that means. It means that the bible has a story in it which is fully supportive if not actually also encouraging of the kind of close relationship that two youths can have for each other. It means that the bible people have a conspiratorial agreement not to mention this story, to lie about it, and to hide it's meaning should it ever happen that it is ever spoken about. Why? If the bible has some parts which are not God's word or God had a bad morning and threw all caution to the wind or it was his, whoops, His, day off and God The Second In Charge was Acting God that day, why conceal the fact, why lie about it? Give us a break as they say.
It is not a quirk of the bible and bible people that they have to have a hate target. It is part and parcel of it.
The story of David and Jonathan shows it quite blatantly. Why else hide and pretend this couple of youths never existed and instead of mentioning how they related to each other the bible people are happy to and prefer to cite Leviticus. Leviticus, by the way, is an exemplary kind of a god, whoops again, God, that is if you can apply the word exemplary to what is clearly a psychopathic (and here I plead for psychiatric professionals to join in my frenzied but reasonable appraisal of this particular God of the bible) personality with not an insignificant set of insecurities and inadequacies to match. It has to be noted that to want to emulate such a psychopathic god ought to be of concern to the broader psychiatric community but for those, like myself indeed, who are not psychiatric professionals, I should perhaps explain that the chief characteristics of any psychopath, ten thousand years ago or tomorrow, is the same, in that they are people who exhibit a lack of conscience in their thinking and their behaviour and noteworthy about this is that they go through life hurting other people and it not even registering with them because they don't actually have what it takes to do what the rest of us call "care". They literally don't care.
I am not kidding you when I describe Leviticus as psychopathic and I am not being facile when I stress to you that the biblicans, just to denounce gayness and stir up disgust, fear and the like and not for any interest whatsoever in what God cares for or doesn't care for, always emphise, repeat and repeat, again and again, this kind of hate-mongering that Leviticus freely enables and sanctions them to do but they will never, never, never, ever, look for or consider or spend a single brief moment actually considering that, well, Samuel is there, part of the bible, just as much a part of the bible as old Levi is, and think to himself or herself anything other than the full equivalent of "I don't give a damn. I just hate queers and faggots and I am going to see them all burn in hell and damnation".
That, you see, is a psychopathic mantra, that and others just like it. But Samuel, you see, gives balance to this psychopathic's dream part of the bible. He is showing not just love and caring but love and caring in a particularly unusual situation, namely that between two young men. In fact this story, from any academic biblical point of view, is extremely important because David was not any mere rent boy or young prostitute off the streets but he was destined to be a king and it is part of biblical certainty that for David to be a king that he must have been perfect and this means that his relationship with Jonathan cannot be dismissed as one of youthful exuberance or "It's just a phase" but has to be incorporated into his life in a very full and valid way.
In fact, if biblicans were to have just a tinge of conscience about their evil activities then they would not be able to ignore the part of Leviticus where it is stressed not to behave in the way that biblicans do. So it is very clear that biblicans do not give a toss, they could not care less, what the important meanings are that are in the bible but put their own diseased agenda forward and pretend that they are fighting for morality, religion, god and the bible is their authority. We are fools and enable them to be the extremely dangerous people that they are and we do this by not interupting them and by allowing them to stir up disgust, fear and hate.
Nothing would please me more than to be able to take up arms, so to speak, with christians and other biblicans and preach the word and works of the Lord. I mean that. I would absolutely love it if I could join them. But I can't. Why? Because I am not that dishonest. I am not sufficient of a liar. I am not willing to deceive people just to gain support and admiration. I am not willing to sacrifice my basic human nature in exchange for a false sense of certainty to belong to a group that, on the face of it, seems to consist of well intentioned and good people but does a lot of harm to the world we all have to share.
I have tasted religious fervour to a modest extent. I have been to Lourdes. In fact I stayed for about a week. I got to experience the feeling of this, what I suppose you could call a religious high, not as a participant in anything but just by sort of gate-crashing although the gates are not closed as far as I am aware so I was just as authorized to be there as anyone else. I didn't step into any of the churches there, if I remember rightly - they make me hiss and spit uncontrollably. But I got the feeling, literally. It's a crowd thing. Think football games, think pop concerts, think day at the crowded beach (without a fat person in sight obviously). Anyway this brief observation that I am about to relate to you took place outside the gates of Lourdes, in the old streets of the town itself just a few metres away from those gates though. At one point I observed two adolescent girls running up the street being pursued by a running nun and I realized that this was a sexual experience being twisted, repressed and re-expressed in a more 'puritanical' way. I only say 'puritanical' as it seems the most applicable word to convey what I was seeing. There was of course no sex but I could tell that it was that same kind of ingredient that was energised as these three young females came running, excitedly, along the road towards and past me. This is not a detrimental criticism of female sexuality but of the whole re-expression of sexual energy into something more acceptable when that greater 'acceptability' is really a false coin. It is better for us to express all our energies directly and not suppress or repress them just because they are embarrassing or illegal. But I am really digressing, yet again, because I took the road to Lourdes and remembered that event when all I really wanted to say was that the best of the religious communial atmosphere IS really nice and I wish I could live it and share it every day but I can't and I can't because it is wrong, dishonest and misguided to put it at it's very mildest and kindest.
What is it that they are really trying to do when they start lashing out with their god-stick? What is it that they really believe? I mean these bible people who will raise Leviticus and silence Samuel. What are they really about in life?
Do you really think any of them is interested in what the truth might actually be? If you want to be generous then why do they refuse to look at each part of the bible and seek to cite the examples that might inspire some loving rather than the examples that they always cite which are designed to stir up your disgust, your fear and your hate?
If you are interested to find out more about David and Jonathan then you will have to find out which version of the bible tells the most truthful version of the story because most versions lie and lie deliberately about them. I would particularly avoid the bible which describes the parting pair as "shaking hands" although if you do stumble across that version just think to yourself, hmmmm "hands" hmm, very likely.
I will just mention one word. Exceeded. If you read about how there is an event when one of the pair, David or Jonathan, one or other, is in tears ("that'll be the camp one dear", perhaps, perhaps not) and they end up "comforting" each other. This "comforting" apparently continues for a little while and it seems to have done the trick as there is no mention of either of them being upset any more. To cut a long story short, well actually it's a short story that I am elongating for effect. The moment arrives when they stop "comforting" each other and apparently the moment at which the "comforting" begins to stop altogether is at the moment when one of them - I believe it is one of them rather than both of them together - one of them "exceeds". We do not know where this comforting technique was learned or precisely how long it took or indeed much else about it. Maybe it will appear in the bible, part deux, the directors cut and final edition, who knows, I look forward to it with eager anticipation.
I just got an idea, how about another bible, one that includes the words mutual mastubation and comes. When false modesty exists just to conceal guilty secrets then reveal and expose the guilty secrets and get rid of the false modesty or have it done for you. That's my message to bible people everywhere. Speak loudly of love but spread misunderstanding, terror, disgust, fear and hate. That should be their tag line because that is all that they do and the sooner people become aware of it and do something about it the better this world will be.
