Converting to Div from Table and other CSS adventures.

It's always best to break down a large task, especially if it's complicated, into smaller ones so that's why I am now converting all my web pages to use the Div instead of Table and also, just done in fact, moving my CSS from inside each page to a separate css file.

Doing one thing at a time works better too. You can see the changes a bit at a time and only move on when bugs are cured. Doing a whole batch of basic changes in a couple of fell swoops brings horrendous problems if bugs enter (as they tend to always) and getting to the root of them can be a much bigger problem that way. So it's slow but sure for me and once it's all done I'll be happy again.

Another change, also in parallel, is the way the print works. I like to read long texts offline especially if they are of a thoughtful kind and I could never be without a simple black printing text output facility. I even print out all my own articles to read offline and it always surprises me how I will spot typos and the like in print that completely escape me via the screen viewing.

So I believe in making it easy to print good web copy and so my CSS file is adapting to that too - and again, good progress is taking place. I want, if I can, to be able to print in nice, magazine style, columns, but I don't yet know if it can be done within the browser.

Then, when I am ready, I will go back to working with the WordPress files again. They're here but not linked yet. My idea, I think I said before, is to bring in WordPress for my blog and also to have a uniform presentation of my site so this is both fun and a challenge. It's also an interesting learning curve too.
