Blog Policy Change, or: Does Anyone Ever Consult BackBlogs? Because, for a start, it seems to me that a blog archive is almost always a redundant item. Who wants to consult, date by date, someone's blog? Aren't blogs generally just interesting for their topicality. Doesn't their value drop off by the day afterwards? Is there any point in working to that formula? These thoughts have been on my mind as I try to develop the right kind of web site and blog that suits my own purposes.
So I have made a few fundamental changes. One thing I will now do is produce a blog which is heading based not date based. It will be produced in the same kind of date or time basis that most blogs are but when I add the next blog entry the previous one will simply be another article or blog article and although it will be dated the main way of archiving it won't be date based but title based.
I don't know if this will work out to be a better way forward but for the time being at least that is the way I will be producing my blog.
It won't actually mean a great change on the main blog page though other than that the normal time based scrolling will cease and be replaced by, probably, a singe entry that lasts a few days before being replaced by another entry.
