First New Article In the Humour category for a year just added

It's called "Letter To America(ns)" and is so funny I had to stop writing it due to excessive merriment on my part. If you were to accuse me of lying, well, it's a white lie, I admit but have you listened to what has been coming out of your White House the last few years? No? Well maybe you should think about calling it some other colour, not white, now that's all I'm saying, okay.

Latest new article: "Torture and the New Robot Society"

Remember Reagan? Whose name sounds just like "Ray Gun"? Remember who he was? Have any meaning do you think? I mean, ray gun, space, star wars... No? Ok, alright then, maybe it's just me. But then I have carefully studied the Judy Woods pics so maybe I am pre-inclined to "a certain dispositon" regarding that topic (space beams, directed energy weapons and, well, ray guns actually) I only mention it as a taster (nothing to do with Reagan at all, be warned though). But this new article IS about metaphor. Can you see why blogging just isn't quite me somehow? I really must try harder mustn't I? Okay that's enough question marks for any paragraph (isn't it?)

A New Category Is Born Today

I have just added a new article, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and created a new category, Medical. I hope to be able to add a few more - I already have a few more in mind for this category.

I am currently working on making the Bax It! Cloner upgrade available... soon, soon.

Please excuse momentary site upheaval

I think I've done and dusted my web site house cleaning job. It was touch and go for a moment (a long moment) though. I gotta just say this to anyone thinking of taking up coding, programming, or jumping into the world of web site construction.

Is it worth it?

No, it isn't, so don't, don't do web site construction or you'll die of brain injury or worse. It's a serious headache. Go for programming proper.

Right, so you're going to ignore my well meant and unclely advice, fine, go ahead, pick web site construction for your career. Just don't come crying to me when it all goes wrong. OK.

CSS is like a nasty snake, hissing and spitting every time you try to tweak it. HTML is like a mouse that has been got at by a python - it soon disappears only to leave a conspicuous bulge. Then as if that wasn't enough to drive anyone mad they threw a cat among the pigeons as if that would clear the deck. The net result. Maybe the interNET result is: You probably can't do it with HTML so you reach for CSS and you can't do it with that AND HTML so they tell you to use Javascript.

Right, so to put a simple page and site together you need three seriously separate technologies, HTML, CSS and Javascript.

Oh, and then it only works nicely on ONE possibly two browsers.

This passes for sanity? I'm not convinced.

So, choose a nice programming language and get results, consistently, without being driven mad in the process.

Couple of new articles added (see listing further down the page) If you're interested in self healing and the Overself, I have just added a long article on that subject. The previous article I wrote on self healing, I see now, was just about a year ago, that's actually so long ago that I have forgotten what I then wrote. I hope I haven't contradicted myself! Recently I wrote another article featuring the Overself because I first became educated on the matter 40 years ago this year so I wanted to sorta celebrate that anniversary so I marked it with that article. This week I also released Bax It! and that involved me setting up a Lulu storefront which I recommend to anyone who has something to publish like a book or software or music.

You lucky downloaders!

Last night I dreamt about a mistake I made and having just put it right I can announce that the first seventeen downloaders of Bax It! have got the COMPLETE version including the pay-for cloner and all for free. That's a nice saving! Congratulations to the "Winners". My mistake. (pec,18th May)

* * * Bax It! is now available. * * *

Bax It! is a backup program I have been using for nearly two years, just about on a weekly or more often basis.

I wrote it for personal use but now it's available for download.

There's no charge and no catch.

It will work on any Windows computer (except 3.x and I have not tested it on Vista yet but it should be fine).

All you need in addition is to have an extra hard drive as a backup store for everything that's on your main hard drive and enough empty, free, space on it to hold that amount of data.

These days the cost of an extra hard drive is not worth quibbling over when it comes to a question of having a backup or no backup. The real question is do you value your data that much?

Here's where you go to get it then it's two or three more clicks with nothing annoying in between:

Bax It! just a few clicks away

(12th May) When I write I aim for it to be important and towards being timeless in value. That's one reason why you won't very likely read the names of some president or prime minister herein. That's not to say I ignore topical issues entirely but I only deal with them when I am convinced of their ongoing importance.

I wrote about the Minot incident for the second time because of the very probable and terrible outcome as one example of a current issue that may turn out to be something that sets the scene for the next century and all depending on how much we ignore it or otherwise.

Normally I don't link to other sites, however, if the Minot incident interests you then you may like to spend some time reading this Project Camelot (''Jack Carter'')

This year marks the 40th aniversary of a major discovery that was personal to me and I have written an article to share that with you.

Thanks for visiting.
