What is Bax It!

Bax It! is a Windows program that safeguards your data, most of your software, by intelligently backing it up to a second hard drive. It provides computer owners with a quick, simple and easy means of protecting against data loss.

Although it can be used with any computer running on Windows XP it has been designed as an all in one solution for laptop computer owners who are usually in a far more data-vulnerable position.

How to Install

Download the single .zip file. Save that downloaded file to a place (eg "Program Files") that suits you.

In Windows XP you can right click and 'Extract All' and choose or create a folder to save it to (eg "Bax It 3")

Once you have the downloaded zip file in the desired folder then you can open the zipped folder and extract all files. Most people will be using Win XP so it's just a right click and choose "Extract All".

The opened zip folder (and the extracted files too) looks like this:

In fact this is a good way to ensure that you do have the right zip file and that nothing is different. If your visual check of the file sizes and file names shows the exact same then you can be sure you have the right zip.

However as long as you have all the same file names and sizes then you have an authentic set of files.

Open the local web page "HowToUse.htm" (double-click it) and that should be enough to get you going. Bax It! is aimed now towards laptop users of Windows XP but will work on any Windows system (except historic Win 3.x).

You may like to create a Desktop Shortcut (icon) for Bax It! now.

This is the icon I use for my programs and is what you will see as your Desktop Shortcut. Don't expect to see the same background colour though!

NB: You will need to have a second hard drive to back up to, and it needs to be as big and empty enough to hold the backup. Do not be put off by this. Now is the time to buy one if you don't yet have one. In the near future I intend to write a handy guide for laptop owners on this subject so watch my main web site for details. Bax It! has a "News" button and when I have this guide published then I will advise it on that news page. This will be one of the most important and valuable services that any laptop owner can avail themselves of - Bax It! is the fist step.

The clone upgrade is a pay for program.

The cloner program is not quite ready to release yet but it will be in a few more weeks.

I hope you will enjoy using Bax It! as much as I do.

Although I offer a pay-for cloning edition, this doe not mean Bax It! is crippled in any way. The cloning operations are performed by a separate program which has no bearing on the backup operations in any way. Moreover, I plan to offer further upgrades to Bax It! (some free, others possibly pay-for, but these do not yet exist). So Bax It! is a complete stand alone program that is fully functional.
